20 Gritty Examples of Noir Photography

This collection from our “Noir” showcase challenge pays tribute to the old 1940′s and 1950′s style black and white films labeled “film noir”. Film Noir’s low-key black-and-white visual style was heavily influenced by German Expressionism, an artistic movement of the 1910s and 1920s. Please enjoy our selection below.

The advert showing a Lubitel Camera brought back lots of memories as I worked in the camera factory in Leningrad (Now St.Petersburgh ) and made hundreds of these cameras in 1964, They sold for about $20 and had an ulta sharp lens!
