Swedish company Hasselblad, a leading manufacturer of medium format cameras and lenses, recently teamed up with Koenigsegg, a Swedish manufacturer of high-performance sports cars, on a project that celebrates Scandinavian technology and design. Ming Thein, Hasselblad’s Chief of Strategy, worked as the photographer and creative director that put together this unique visual story which explores the production of a car from concept, design and development, to production.
The approximately 3-minute video features stunning visuals, behind the scenes work, and commentary from Thein who discusses some of the aspects of the shoot from a photographer’s perspective. The visuals might leave you craving for a Hasselblad and a sports car, or at the very least, inspire you to keep producing high-level, detailed photography work in your own business. Equipment used to shoot the Koenigsegg Regeera and Agera RS in action was the H6D-100c and DJI Matrice 600 drone.
Here is a preview of some of the camera info and images produced during the 2 day shoot around Ängelholm, Sweden. Thein incorporated many types of photography techniques into the short window of opportunity they had to shoot. Long exposures, aerial perspectives, high speed synch flash, and all compositions had to be timed perfectly to produce the images that were planned.
